This is Matt's Avengers Cake. Took me the whole of Wednesday and six cakes in total. We ran through a few ideas of what to do and what characters but we finally stuck to just the Avengers and have Captain America, Iron Man and Thor.
Captain Americas layer was my first 12" cake and made it with two colorings to create a cool marbled effect. Iron Mans layer was red sponge with a paper cup holing in the yellow center until just before it went into the oven. It also has 23ct Gold Leaf on the fondant too which was a total nightmare to work with! Thor's Hammer was Matt's favourite - chocolate cake stacked three times with chocolate spread. They was plenty of excess to nibble on too!
